Feliz Navidad

Hey guys! I am so sorry I have not written a blog post in a loooong while. Life has been kind of hectic, especially this month. If you read back in May of this year, I dedicated a blog to my grandmother, (Abuelita) telling her story and explaining that she had just been diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. On December 16th of this year, she passed, and her suffering finally ended. Of course, I am very heartbroken, as we had a very close relationship, but  I am also very glad to know that her suffering has come to an end. She was never the type of person who liked being sick. Living with cancer took the happiness and everything out of her, and it was very hard for me to see her like that. She is now at peace, and very happy. Throwing a fiesta (party) in Heaven and dancing with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I am very happy to have been doing nothing else, but spending my last days with her. I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. As my best friend and fellow blogger, Eb, has said, it has been a year of ups, downs, laughter, and tears, and I’d like to add, many great and unique adventures that I will never forget. This is how life goes, and it’s very beautiful. Throughout all of these emotions, I have grown stronger. Holding on to the Hand of my Savior, Jesus Christ, Whose Love for me never changes even though I am so imperfect. His Love, throughout all the changes, is the One thing that remains constant, so with Him, I can and will always go on. I want to remind everyone reading this to be ever so thankful for life, and the loved ones God gave you. Ebony and I are so thankful for YOU, and the encouragement and love that you have shown to us and our blog this year. Your encouragement has made me more passionate about writing, and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for this. I will continue to write as long as the Lord inspires me. With all of this said, Feliz Navidad, (Merry CHRISTmas) or whatever it is you celebrate, and always remember to celebrate life, like my Abuelita did so well.  Descansa En Paz, Abuelita. 1928-2016

All my love to you, readers! ❤

Happy Holiday

Hey guys, I just wanted to say happy holidays! It’s been a year of ups, downs, laughter and tears.  Hugs your family and friends a little tighter. Appreciate every moment. So much has happened in the past year. I learned so much about myself.   I will continue to write my blogs as long as there’s a need for it.  Ash and I started this blog to raise awareness about CP, but it has become so much more than that. It’s bigger than us. We are greatful for all the support we have relieved over this past year. So from our family to yours HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Until next year…

   Xo, Ebony🎄

Letting Go Of The Negative

Often times when I’m out and about I get asked “How do you stay so positive although you disability?” This might sound cliche, but it’s about the foundation you have been given. I have my parents Eric and Anita to thank for that.  They chose not to treat me any different from my siblings. They refused to believe  the doctors prognosis. They were told I would be blind that I wouldn’t even talk or have any quality of life. Obviously now that wasn’t the case.  God had everything to do with it. He knows my heart and he knows my potential. I could choose to dwell on the abilities I don’t have or use the ones he gave me.

I choose use the ones he gave me. Life is too short to dwell on the negative. We only get one life so let’s live it. I’m using my platform to tell my story and help others. You are more than your disability. Never let anyone tell you what you can and cannot do. You have the potential to be anything you want. I hope this helps anyone reading these blogs disability or not. Everyone needs a little encouragement. Until next time….

Xo,

Ebony💕
